It was the perfect day for Max Verstappen: at the Mexican Grand Prix, the Dutchman recorded his 16th win of the season, and earlier in the day his favourite football club PSV had beaten Ajax by a whopping 5-2. And then Verstappen probably didn't even think about the world title of the Dutch korfballers, in the early morning.

"My day already couldn't get any better," Verstappen laughed in front of Viaplay's microphone, referring to the PSV win. "And this makes it nicer again."

Verstappen praises Red Bull strategy

To loud applause from the Mexican fans - who appreciated the performance of Sergio Perez's teammate - Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing RB19 were hoisted up at the podium ceremony. After a demonstration like that in Mexico, it was quite right that the team also received the applause. "It's always a team collaboration. The car just went super. The strategy we wanted to try was also top notch. Too bad we couldn't finish it because of that red flag, but I think that would have been a top strategy."

Verstappen started from third place, but was already in the lead after the first corner. A day earlier, Verstappen had said that the race could not be won in the first corner. He looked back on that statement after the Grand Prix: "If the start is good, of course you go for it. And that start was very good."

Easy win with two critical moments: both starts.

My prediction from yesterday saying that Max will be in P1 by the first corner proves to be correct!
Its a trend which has statistical numbers to back it up, that very often these days, whenever Charles gets on pole, Max will win the race.
