Sergio Perez is severely disappointed with his teammate Max Verstappen's attitude. The Dutchman refused to let him pass him, despite the fact that Perez needs the points to finish second in the championship.
Perez did not act tough when Verstappen overtook him in the closing stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Red Bull Racing promised him that he would get the position back if Verstappen failed to move further forward, but the Dutchman ignored his team orders.
Perez was left disappointed and displeased with his teammate's attitude. "That shows who he really is," the Mexican said on the team radio after the finish. Christian Horner apologised and assured him that this will be addressed during the team's debrief.
Speaking to DAZN's microphone, Perez let out comments about his teammate, according to Twitter. He said he was surprised that Verstappen did not give the position back, adding that the Dutchman owes his two championships to him.
If Perez put his car in the wall deliberately then admitted as much to Horner and Marko (allegedly, so where did that story come from?), then Horner and Marko should have sacked Perez immediately at Monaco
Some of u guys r so focused on hating on LH that u don't see what's right there for everyone to see. Checo swam into the mud for him to secure at least 1 championship and yet... Some say his championships are more valuable cause he had more that a teammate as a rival. PEREZ has never allowed himself self to be in Max way to shampionship. Quite the opposite...
Nope. He will get a warning from Christian internally. That's it.
No.If there is something hidden from RB, paining SP is going to be of high risk of opening a can of worms. They know better than anyone on this.Perez is likely going to take away one of MV championships.MV is going to kneel down on SP or else we are going to know something we never knew.
I agree with Perez on this one. Verstappen should have given these 2 points to Perez. It will not make any difference to Verstappen but can make difference to Perez.
That was the first time I think I've seen negative behaviour from Verstappen.
And it's great to see Verstappen fans agreeing Verstappen being wrong. This neutral way of thinking, I would also like to see from certain HAM fans and not act like religious sect.
Refreshing to see Max's fans agreeing that he was wrong. Good work. I think he ought to be disappointed with himself as well. He is literally fighting for nothing while checo trying to gain p2
I'm one of the biggest Max fans, nevertheless, it baffles me what happened! Max doesn't need these points at all, he is already world champion and won the most races in the entire F1 existence. What the hell is going on? As well, yesterday Red-Bull observed that the yellow didn't work, why they put Sergio on the yellow, I have no idea?
The last paragraph is hilarious. You're so neutral that you managed to make it about HAM when the article has nothing to do with him.
"He said he was surprised that Verstappen did not give the position back, adding that the Dutchman owes his two championships to him."
Hahahaha Perez...I'll give it to you that you helped in AD...in 2022 however, you knda did nothing at all to lay any claim on Max' title...
My heart goes out to Checo. Even as a Max fan, there are no excuses. Apologies, Checo. You deserved better from the team and Max.
Checo was still diplomatic in the post race interview and said they'll discuss it internally and go forward as teammates. Good on you, Checo. Max also said he'll help him out in Abu Dhabi if needed, but let's see how that goes?
Max knows it will be between him and Leclerc at Abu Dhabi. Redbull won't f'up their setup twice and Ferrari can run their engines normally at Abu Dhabi without any fear of failures due to higher altitude. Checo needs to put it on pole and control an entire race which is highly unlikely.
Well, it was fun while it lasted, I don't see Checo in F1 after 2023 and I don't see many drivers today willing to help Max the way Checo has done in the past.
I feel so badly for Checo, such a nice guy doesn't deserve such poor treatment esp from his teammate. The guy gave his all for RB to succeed and they treat him like trash
ill reply to you but the comment is in general... im not sure i understand the sympathy and empathy. perez has been slow and hopeless since he showed up. he is weak in every area. when you say " he helped so much " how exactly ? by qualifying in mid field and finishing there in a championship winning car ? and what exactly does max owe him ? let him do his own work and generate his own results. if he deserves to be second then he will generate the results that gets him there. he is second rate at best and they should have canned him last year.
You let your bias towards Checo get the better of you. He is far from weak in every area. He has superior tire control compared to 90% of the grid. He excels when they are on street circuits. Thats not a one off or a bad driver. He should have won on every street circuit this year. He was robbed in Jeddah. Sadly, his driving style is more suited to endurance racing. If he switched to Hypercars, he would probably win Lemans on his first go. He is not a bad driver. Just his style doesnt suit these new cars. Bit like Daniel.
This is a common theme with Red Bull jnr drivers. Vettel and Multi 21. This is the reason I took a dislike to Vettel for so long and Red Bull.
Yeah exactly the same. I liked RedBull at that time and both Vettel and Webber, but then Malayisia happened and Vettel went from one of my favourites to my hated list.
I went out and bought a multi 21 T-shirt. Thought it was hilarious. Much more fun rooting for talented heels.
Webber had as much talent as Vettel did. Its much more exciting rooting for the guy thats being subjected to favouritism and seeing them win like in Silverstone afterwards. Not bad for a number 2. The fact you think multi 21 was hilarious and root for the guy thats winning shows your mentality.
Max has shown his true colours the ultimate team player. NOT. He's just a spoilt little brat
This will be fun. To be honest Max should have let Checo through in the end when he failed to overtake Alonso.
There are few races where Checo has let Max through. Even though Max was faster in those races, Checo could have defended real hard against him and risked a contact.
With both Championships in the bag Max had nothing to lose today by handing that place back to Checo. Max needs to play a longer game.
Correct, it show who he truly is.. A winner! You wouldn't understand.
. "That shows who he really is"
??the gloves are finally coming off. After all that hard work you did for this driver, he now can't give you crucial points. What an ego.
Perez's frustration goes deep, he just can't keep up and it eats at him. Then in these situations he says stuff like this. If i was him i would take matters in my own hands and start driving like Max does. But he can't.
That doesn't work, he gets told to "don't fight" or slow down for Max.
Weren't you watching this whole season?
