Max Verstappen gets to start from the best starting position in his home race at
Zandvoort. Next to him,
McLaren driver and good friend
Lando Norris will start, with
George Russell and
Alexander Albon behind him on the second row of the grid.
Things looked tight for a while in the closing stages of qualifying for the
Zandvoort Grand Prix. Norris managed to challenge Verstappen during the session, but in the final minutes, the reigning world champion showed his best side and drove away from the Briton by more than half a second.
Behind Verstappen, it was mainly Alex Albon who managed to impress - not for the first time. He qualified his
Williams in fourth place, after competing for the top positions throughout qualifying.
Sergio Perez had to settle for seventh on the grid and
Lewis Hamilton came off even worse with 13th.
Yuki Tsunoda is dropped to P17 for impeding Hamilton.
