Just over five seconds was the difference between
Max Verstappen and
Charles Leclerc on the line, but that difference did little justice to the actual racing during the
Austrian Grand Prix. In real racing terms, the reigning champion had once again dominated throughout and could afford to make a pit stop in the closing stages. With fresh tyres, the Dutchman also managed to capture the point for the fastest lap.
Verstappen took pole for the Grand Prix and the Sprint and won both races. In terms of results, it could not have been better for the
Red Bull Racing driver. But was he the best man in Austria? After all,
Lando Norris also delivered a superb performance with his
McLaren by eventually finishing fourth. And there is also
Sergio Perez, who still drove to the podium from the fifteenth starting spot? And what about
Charles Leclerc's
Ferrari? For only the second time this season, a driver from the Italian team finished in the top three.
