Lewis Hamilton gave dejected reaction after Friday practice during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend. The seven-time World Champion, who has won two races during the 2024 season, doesn't expect Mercedes to go into the top 10 during qualifying as he gave gloomy prediction for qualifying.

Hamilton was 11th fastest in the second free practice session and faster than Max Verstappen. But the Mercedes driver was almost a full second slower than Lando Norris' fastest time.

What can Hamilton achieve in Singapore?

Hamilton described his feeling on the circuit when speaking to F1TV after the session. “This car, I mean, it feels pretty eesh. It’s very difficult, and a very challenging day. We’ve tried everything setup-wise, and nothing seems to work with the setup. So definitely very challenging," a dejected Hamilton said before saying that Mercedes are trying hard to turn it around.

"We’re really giving it everything, and then you find out you’re a second off – I think, ultimately, we’re just a little bit lost, and we’re not really sure where to put the car. We tried a lot, and achieved the same thing," he said.

Last week, Hamilton qualified in seventh place which was last out of the front runners apart from Lando Norris who failed to escape Q1. In the end, Hamilton had to start from the pitlane. Hamilton is expected a worse result in Singapore. “At the moment, we won’t be going into Q3," Hamilton concluded.
