Pierre Gasly avoids penalty for repairs after his crash in FP2
Pierre Gasly has managed to avoid a penalty after his crash during Friday's second practice session ahead of the German Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver lost control at the end of the lap before sliding across the gravel and hitting the wall at speed.
In an interview yesterday, Christian Horner admitted he wasn't sure what was needed to be changed and wanted a closer look before making a comment. On Friday morning, Helmut Marko said the crash was a "simple mistake from the driver".
Gasly's car was rechecked by scrutineering after his crash. The Formula 1 report says: Gasly completed the scrutineering declaration after a survival cell change.
Meanwhile, Robert Kubica's car also had a big change overnight. The Williams driver also gets away without a penalty.
