Former Formula 2 champion and Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich will step into the Aston Martin for FP1 at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The Brazilian will be replacing Fernando Alonso for the first practice session of the weekend, getting behind the wheel of the AMR25 for the first time this season.
This moves comes as part of Formula 1's rookie session requierements, where team's are obliged to run a rookie - classed as a driver with two or fewer F1 race appearances under their belt - in four sessions this term, or two per car - an increase of one run-out per car on previous seasons.
Drugovich becomes the third driver to be confirmed for FP1, with Ryo Hirakawa driver for Haas, while Fredrick Vesti will replace Geroge Russell in the Mercedes.
"I'm very happy to be getting out in the F1 car again, especially so early in the season," said Drugovich.
"I've been preparing on the simulator to get a feel for the car, and Bahrain is a track I know well and really enjoy driving."
The Brazilian stepped in for an injured Lance Stroll during 2023 winter testing, with plenty of experience of Bahrain under his belt to give the British team some valuable readings for the rest of the weekend.
"I'm excited to contribute and give the team the data they need to perform at their best this weekend. Thanks to the whole team for their continued support," Drugovich concluded.
"We're pleased to offer Felipe this opportunity to drive the AMR25 in Bahrain," said team principal Andy Cowell. "He has been an integral part of our team's simulator programme at the AMR Technology Campus and consistently provides valuable and insightful feedback that helps drive the development of the car.
"Felipe is a trusted pair of hands, and we're confident he'll do a great job in FP1 and contribute to our preparations for the race weekend," concluded the Brit.
