Williams team owner Claire Williams has admitted that she thinks about leaving the team amidst the struggles this season, as she's begun to doubt whether she's the right person for the job.
Williams are dead-last in the constructors' championship with just four points, all of which have come from Lance Stroll. Sergey Sirotkin is the only driver on the grid who has yet to score any points at all this season, as the Russian rookie has struggled to adapt to life in Formula One.
Former F1-champion Jacques Villeneuve has laid all of the blame on Claire Williams, saying that she's responsible for the FW41 performing this badly.
Williams herself has now said that she doesn't care much what people from the outside say, as feedback from the team is the only thing that matters to her.
“Of course I think about walking away," she admitted to The Sun.
“Anyone with a team in this position would but it’s not because I can’t be bothered any more.
“I question whether I’m the right person to be doing this job.
"But I haven’t got to the point where I look in the mirror and think I’m the problem.
“If people are criticising me in the paddock or on social media, they can do that all they like.
“But if anyone in Williams says to my face that I was damaging the team, then I would go.
Until that day comes, however, Williams has vowed that she won't give up on the team and that she'll give it her all.
"It is up to us to fix it.”
