The Formula 1 world was kept in suspense for weeks awaiting the outcome of Red Bull's independent investigation into Christian Horner. It has now been confirmed: Horner was cleared and may stay on as Red Bull Racing team boss. Future engine partner Ford are keeping a low profile on the situation for now.
A few weeks into the investigation, Ford, which will work with Red Bull as engine partner of Red Bull Powertrains from 2026, began to increase pressure on the F1 team. In a leaked letter, CEO Jim Farley showed his displeasure that there was no outcome yet.
Meanwhile, that outcome has arrived: Red Bull GmbH announced on Wednesday that the complaint of the employee in question was rejected based on the findings of the independent lawyer who conducted the investigation. This clears Horner of any blame, although image damage has been incurred anyway.
Ford is currently still keeping quiet about the outcome of the investigation. Asked for a comment by GPblog, a spokesperson replied, "We will not be commenting on the situation at this time."
Most likely because Ford wants to see the workings first before saying its vows as it joins RBR in holy matrimony for the foreseeable future. In their past comment...they were largely in the dark on detail...
Let's see what other loopholes or excuses that Ford management will try to use to get out of their agreement to be a joint venture F1 engine supplier with RB Engine Technology.
The same ones Porsche used probably. Honda doesn't to be associated with red bull anymore. Ford will soon follow.
Happens when the big car companies take a closer look at the company operations and driver lineup and concluded it's not worth their time.
Red Bull needs to drop those losers. Ford's running to the media and leaking letters last week was just a preview of what kind of "partner" they plan to be.
Nothing is stopping them. Red bull needs ford more than ford needs red bull. Porsche already did not want to associate themselves with Red Bull losers. I foresee a withdrawal real soon. The timing has to be right.
..Ford has not made a statement, at least not yet, whether this was an attempt to get out of the partnership. What will be the relationship with Ford now? And is this all now connected with Porsche, because as things stand, CH together with Mark and Adrian Newey were against the partnership Maybe everything should have been a domino, the fall of one, the departure of the other, the termination of a failed partnership And the establishment of a new one that Austria would now like
here in the Balkans there is a folk proverb ford only exists so that "z.a.s.t.a.v.a. yugo" wouldn't be the worst car
Ofcourse they won't. They had no business to make any comments on the investigation in the first place as it was Redbull's internal matter. They should learn something from Honda who are Redbull's current partner and they fully trusted the process. Honda were even present at RB20 launch.
@divergent you were right but ford was try be the big i am with it now it make then look silly with it and honda trused there prosse i was just thinking may be honda will stay with red bull as well as aston that be better and drop ford
If Honda hadn't prematurely withdrew back in 21 their successful partnership would have continued beyond 25.
that's why Honda is such a great partner
and it's a great pity that they won't work together anymore
Funny ford has no coment after send red bull letter they wanted investergation done faster .know its over they not say anything guss it was you wanted pull out of f1 becose losse money with you ev project .and honer been found not guilty .
You make good point. I would guess Ford won't validate the investigation results without vetting it , so my opinion is that Ford will make a statement at some point once their legal team okays it .
