What an afternoon it was in Mexico! And not just for the front-runners in the race. We give an assessment of how the second five drivers performed in the Mexican Grand Prix.

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) - 8

With the help of Daniel Ricciardo's retirement, Hulkenberg moved up a place from his qualifying position. A fairly standard drive, but one that more or less wraps up the 'best of the rest' spot. He managed 57 laps on one set of tyres.

Charles Leclerc (Sauber) - 8

Leclerc basically kept himself out of trouble but did well enough to equal his second-highest finish in F1. Some good overtakes and great driving to avoid any contact sets him up well for his final two races before moving to Ferrari.

Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) - 10

What a race from Vandoorne. He went 57 laps on a set of supersofts which probably would have been virtual ice rinks. He didn't make a mistake and was certainly his best drive in F1.

Marcus Ericcson (Sauber) - 7.5

Not a lot has been said about Ericsson. He moved up just the one place but thought off some strong attacks. Just as Leclerc did, he managed to do a 1 stopper, something which wasn't looking likely before the race.

Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) - 6.5

A good drive from Gasly. He moved up into the points having qualified in 15th place behind team-mate Hartley. He'll probably be desperate to take up Daniel Ricciardo's offer of sitting in the Red Bull early!
