Max Verstappen took over the lead from Carlos Sainz after ten laps. The Spaniard made a mistake and the Dutchman could take P1. However, Verstappen suffered an issue a few laps later, forcing him to make a pit stop.
Verstappen slowly came closer to Sainz's Ferrari. The Spaniard felt the pressure, as he lost his car and ended up off-track. This allowed the Red Bull driver to take over the lead after the restart.
However, a few laps later, things also went wrong for Verstappen on the same stretch. The Dutchman suspected he had a flat tyre and immediately entered the pit lane. He is currently in sixth place, but the Red Bull driver suspects there is more to the story. Verstappen still experienced problems after the pitstop and Red Bull confirmed he had bodywork issues.
What an amazing and entertaining race! Thoroughly enjoyed those last 10 laps with the battles between Sainz, Perez, Leclerc, Lewis and even Max and Schumacher! The crowd kept up their unsportsmanlike antics, but that wasnt a surprise for anyone ? All in all, 3rd time mechanical failure for Max, most of anyone in the top, and he still had a commandable lead, without having the dominant car. Impressive. Today the result couldnhardly have been any better for Max with Lerclerc only ending up 4th and Perez also not winning. Only 6 and 13 points lost respectively after such a bad result and having the slowest car on track.
He had the fastest car on the track until he broke it. No one to blame but himself
What an orchestrated race for Silverstone crowd?. Perez had same damage as Charles, he pitted, Charles continued. Max's puncture wasn't even visible and he wasn't riding the kerbs at all. Not sure what the damage was. Free podium for Hamilton and 4th for Norris at Silverstone.
This way the home boys dont lose face Divergent2 Better as is . No biggy for Max atm ,so all are happy ?
I think Max had a problem with new floor they bring to England. He must broke something or some parts were too fragile
No mate. This was as genuine as Russell's puncture at Sakhir and sad part about it was, Ferrari failed to capitalise on it with Charles.
