Lewis Hamilton has been racing since a very young age. In his spare time the British driver frequently spoke out against abuses in motor sports and the world. In the coming years he hopes to pass this on to the young drivers.
The successful title fight between Hamilton and Verstappen is creating a lot of media attention for Formula 1, which only puts more pressure on talented drivers to perform. However, Hamilton says it is also important to be a role model and make yourself useful in the world in other ways.
In an interview with Sky Sports the number two of the world championship tells how difficult that is, pointing to Max Verstappen among others. "When you're young, all you're thinking about is winning," Hamilton states. "You don't have time for a lot of these other things. Well, you think you don't, but you actually do. And that's what we've got to get across."
Hamilton also tries to help drivers in other ways. "I'm speaking with Mick [Schumacher], whose such a lovely lad and he's saying things like, 'I don't know everything, is there any way you can educate me?' And same with Lando [Norris]. So I'm really proud of this next generation coming along, but we can still encourage them to be more invested and more understanding."
Hamilton: 'When you're young, all you're thinking about is winning.
and now Mick and Lando ask for advise. should that be so they can change the world in a better place or should it be on how to win a race???
Race drivers are supposed to think about winning. Lewis is just virtue signaling.
Again over the top self-promotional article from him. That's his only negative side, he's like a Trump in F1. All you can read from Trump is self-promotion after self-promotion, it's all me me me. Same with Ham. He wants to show himself as role model when he's not. Like this fast BLM thing they do before the race. All running there, stand some time and then run away again, it looks super silly. These kind of things need time and right place. It's not some morning quickie with your wife. You need to really show that you mean it. So that's why it just feels fake on tv. And this Mick and Lando asking me "Hey mr Hamilton would you please educate me, we don't know how these things work" I mean come on....SUPER SILLY.
Still during a season dominated by Redbull still this Titan of F1 has time for the young talents on the grid.
What education will they get from Lewis? How to ram the wall coming into the pits? How to run over your own pit crew? Or the Hamilton super special: how to push your opponent off the track when they are on the outside.
