Hamilton motivated: 'Another chance to fight for a world title'

Lewis Hamilton has already had to work with many different teammates in his time in Formula 1. After several years at Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas was replaced by George Russell in 2022. Hamilton is very happy about the partnership with the young Briton.
The 2022 season was not an easy one for Hamilton. The W13 proved not good enough to compete with Red Bull Racing and Ferrari for the world title. As a result, the Briton could not take revenge for his loss in 2021. Mercedes, meanwhile, has already brought the new bolide for 2023 to life. Hamilton is looking forward to the new season.
"I'm definitely excited for 2023. A new year to be better, a new year to climb, keep fighting and unite even more. And it's another chance to fight for a World Championship", he says on Mercedes' official website.
Hamilton enjoys working with Russell
Hamilton had a lot more trouble with the W13 than his new teammate Russell. The young Briton finished 35 points ahead of Hamilton in the drivers' championship. The Mercedes driver has only positive words for working with Russell.
"I think it's been smooth and there has been a lot of growth. I have worked with many drivers before, so it was perhaps more normal for me but for him, it was probably more of an adjustment because he was new to the team and it was the first time we had worked together properly. He's been great to work with, pushing the car forwards technically and set-up wise. It's been a good first year as team-mates", says the seven-time world champion.
