The 'RB' in Visa Cash App RB, AlphaTauri's new name, does not stand for Racing Bulls, according to the team. Still, the connection is not surprising given the FIA's entry list.

RB does not stand for Racing Bulls

The FIA's registration list for the 2024 Formula One season shows that Red Bull Racing's sister team has been registered by a company called 'Racing Bulls SpA', based in Italy. The registered name of the team is Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team and the chassis is simply called 'RB'.

A representative of the F1 team confirmed to GPblog that the 'RB' in the team name is not an abbreviation for Racing Bulls. Since Visa Cash App RB doesn't exactly smell good, the full name is unlikely to be used colloquially. It is possible that the team will use the abbreviation VCARB.

Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda's team will unveil the new 2024 car on 8 February. The launch promises to be a grand affair, as it will reportedly take place during the legendary Super Bowl.
