AlphaTauri have presented the new AT03 - their car for the 2022 Formula 1 season. They will hope the new car, driven by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda, will take the team to another level in 2022. View all photos of the new car here.
On Monday afternoon, AlphaTauri presented their new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season. This season the cars look completely different from previous seasons because the aerodynamic regulations have been changed. This has resulted in a completely new AT03.
For Gasly and Tsunoda they will hope that the team has interpreted the rules correctly. Normally the team take over many parts from Red Bull Racing, but always from the year before. As this is the first year of the new regulations, the team cannot take parts from the 2021 Red Bull.
However, with Franz Tost at the helm as team principal and Jody Egginton, the team has a stable base to develop a good car. Egginton took over the helm from James Key, who left for McLaren in 2019. With experience at Force India and Caterham, he is no stranger to F1 and has already taken AlphaTauri to a handsome sixth place in the Constructors' standings in 2021 with the AT02 he designed.
Yeah,I don't care too much for the look of the cars,as long as they perform, but from the few releases it reminds me of the early 90's designs.....and I did like those.
Was never a fan of the cars developing more and more little bits being stuck onto it.
The last generation bargeboards was probably the uglies thing ever put on the cars.....well,that,the "X" wing and the horrible noses about a decade ago.
If these cars can truly race closer together,we may be in for a treat.
