Lewis Hamilton has lowered fans expectations about overtaking in the Austrian Grand Prix tomorrow. The FIA have introduced a third DRS zone on the Speilberg track, but the British driver isn't optimistic.
Hamilton qualified 2nd for the race in Austria, forming the second half of a Mercedes 1-2. Talking directly after the qualifying finished to Mark Webber, he confirmed how little overtaking he thinks they'll be.
"You cannot really follow here, so I doubt there is going to be a lot of overtaking. We have three DRS zones, but I am not really sure that is going to make a lot of difference," Hamilton said.
The four-time world champion went on to insist the drivers may not even be able to get into the activation window.
"We will be quick on the straights, and we will use less fuel, but I don't know if you will be able to get close enough to even activate the DRS," he added.
Hamilton finished just 0.019 seconds behind team-mate Bottas. He was on a hot lap in the early stages of Q3 but made a mistake halfway around the circuit.
The run down to the first corner will be important and determine which Mercedes driver is favourite to win the race. The Red Bull seemed well off the pace on their home track meaning only the Ferrari's have a serious chance to challenge the Germans.
