Hadjar: 'It's yet to be confirmed and I can't tell what I'm doing'

Three drivers from the current Formula 2 grid have already secured 'promotion' to F1. Andrea Kimi Antonelli will replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, Oliver Bearman will be Esteban Ocon's teammate at Haas, and Gabriel Bortoleto joined the Audi project signing for Kick Sauber. A fourth driver may also be on that list: Isack Hadjar. The Frenchman answered GPblog's question at the press conference about is future.

In Qatar, GPblog asked the question to Hadjar whether he feels ready for a seat in F1. "I mean, it's obviously confirmed… And yet to be confirmed, right? So obviously, I can't tell. I literally can't tell you what I'm doing next season because it's not been official," the Frenchman said

Bortoleto then asked his title rival if he already knows the Red Bull family's decision. "If I say I know, then maybe you guys know what's going on," Hadjar replied.

Hadjar is currently still in contention for the F2 title. Entering the final weekend of the season in Abu Dhabi, he only half a point behind Bortoleto. He also has the chance to get promoted to VCARB, making him the fifth rookie on the grid next season. That would also mean that Sergio Perez would be let go by Red Bull Racing, and he would replace the driver promoted to that team from VCARB.

Antonelli's records have been the best of any drivers ever to come to F1.
Bearman's records have been pretty impressive as well.
Bortoleto won F3 as a rookie and will likely win F2 in his rookie season too, so he is in the same talent level as Charles, George and Piastri.
So, all 3 of them have the credentials to be a good F1 driver.
Hadjar?? Has never won a single championship ever in any category! Why should he be in F1 at all?

"Antonelli's records have been the best of any drivers ever to come to F1"

Realy?
Not saying he isn't good. But best of any drivers ever to come to F1?

Go through Wikipedia and check every single drivers racing records, from their karting days and all through their single seater careers, on the number of championships that they have won and have they won it in their rookie year etc... and you will confirm for yourself that my statement is correct.

That's what I did and nope.
On top of that you're contradicting yourself. But nevermind...

People making these decisions take little details also into consideration, like in what team somebody drove. Good, average or bad.

Also Colapinto has pretty much nothing to show for. But if we look little bit closer, then he drove in MP Motorsport, not the best teams probably in F2. But he's 7th position even right now, when missing 3 races. Was in front of Antonelli, before going to F1. And is in front of his team-mate Hauger, who has done 2 more year in F2 and also considered pretty good driver. Hauger for example won F3 champhionships. So if championships would mean so much, then we should consider him better than Colapinto. But reality is something else. Cause Hauger drove for dominating Prema in F3. Without Prema underneath him, he would been worse and maybe not even a champion.

So there's signs here and there that some driver is good. But one thing for sure, even if you put good driver into bad car, he would show something on track, where you see that there's some potential. In F2 this season I think top3 has been above others. Aron probably quickest, having 4 qualy wins. For a rookie to have 4 qualy wins and lead championships at the beginning, pretty impressive. Also Bortoleto to lead F2 championship on his rookie season. These 2 are so ready for F1. Hadjar is kinda question mark. I think he should be okey, but then he seems to be kinda slow learner and his mental side makes me wonder. I don't like his team radio, when he screams and accuses everybody or everything. He still feels like a 13 year old kid to me.

Antonelli for his age has also shown impressive results. I know you were expecting championship from him, but for me top6 for his age is amazing.

But Bearman is a mystery. There's some good races but then there's some really bad ones also, that makes me wonder about him. Also 2nd year in a row losing to his team-mate. And not just a little. I would consider Bearman being worse than Hadjar.

It is not necessarily the case that whoever wins titles is the best. Look at Mick Schumacher

Cool, so he is in VCARB next year. Obvious to see. He should just not try too hard and ease into it.
Cheers Checo, thanks for your services, now go spent quality time with the family.
Congrats Lawson, you are in a top team with the worst possible team mate to have. LOL.
